Fig & Rouge Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm

This tube of lip balm came in this month's Glossybox and is made by Fig & Rouge, a brand I've never heard of before. Although given this blog was created to aid someone who's got to the age of *mumblesomethingcough*  work out skincare and beauty, that may not be a shock.

Packaging: Very bright and cheerful! There's a whole lot of balm in this tube and it's a whole world away from the little glass pots we all used to dip our grubby little fingers into at school.

Smell: Very fruity!

Feel: Very thick. So thick that if you use slightly too much you can feel clumps of excess balm around your lips. Ew. Less is more so I can see this lasting ages.

Look: This is only a tint so it's not overpowering but it does add a nice little touch for daytime use. Probably not coloured enough to show too badly if you have to apply while herding two kids out of the door while simultaneously juggling five bags and a coffee. Which is handy really, given that's how most of my mornings start.

After Use: Staying power isn't great but again, this isn't a colour but a balm so I don't really expect it to stay on for ages.

Love or Bin: LOVE

Available: Various places including Boots and feelunique, so should be widely available. £4.95 delivered from feelunique so pretty affordable!

I'm really impressed with this balm and went to inspect the Fig & Rouge website. They've just started doing a hand cream which if they're anything like this balm will be worth trying.

A Glossybox of Monthly Perfection

Let me tell you the type of person I am.

I'm the one who takes so long to make a purchase decision that I lose all interest in the product and don't buy anything at all. I'm that person.

My Pinterest board of beauty products that I simply must try is full of things that I'll never, ever buy because I'm crippled by indecision. Which of the 'must use' foundations must I use? Which 'best beauty buy' must I buy? What do I do?!

Clearly my long-suffering husband has had enough of me because he's discovered a brilliant buy in the form of Glossybox. For a very reasonable monthly subscription fee I'm being sent a box with 5 'deluxe beauty miniatures' targeted to my skin and hair type. I got my first box for my birthday and was pretty impressed with how glam it looked, full of poncy ribbons, tissue paper and shredded hoohaa. The miniatures weren't really miniature either. The lip liner (hmm, I wasn't ace with that the first time round and now my hands are older and shakier...) is full sized and the lip balm is a pretty hefty 12.5ml tube.

I'm sure the boxes will be hit and miss but they'll definitely be better than not trying anything, and I'll get to broaden my beauty horizons! I'm looking forward to experimenting with the items this weekend.
